A local guide welcomes you at the Domsquare with a vibrant introduction on the history of Utrecht. Following a short walk, you will board your kayak and start exploring.
Navigating the Old Canal, you can see hundreds of medieval cellars. Once these were used for trade, now they're filled with dozens of cosy restaurants and bars. This is what makes Utrecht such a great place.
Along the way, the guide combines inspiring stories, fun facts and historical insights. Furthermore, don't hesitate to ask for suggestions on where to go and what to do. During the break there is time to relax, a drink to-go will be served in the kayak.
This tour is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. It combines a fun activity with great views and surprising stories. You will definitely see Utrecht at its best!

Practical information
- The meeting-point is at the Domplein/Domsquare, next to the statue of Jan van Nassau.
- Wear comfortable clothing (casual/sportive).
- Being able to swim is mandatory.
- If you want to wear a life-jacket, notify me at minimum 24 hrs before the tour, and I'll bring one.
- Bring rain gear yourself when rain is forecasted. Some disposable poncho's will be available.
- Only when prolonged periods of rain are expected, the tour will be cancelled. Light rain or short rainfall is not a problem, as we can take shelter under a bridge.
- The kayaks are brought to the city center, so no storage facility or restroom is available.
- In each kayak there is space for two medium size bags (daypacks).
